Got a beat in your head but no idea where to take the chords? The AlphaTheta Chordcat is a portable 8-track groovebox that helps you build progressions, sketch tracks and stumble into your next great idea fast.

The AlphaTheta Chordcat is made for producers, beatmakers and songwriters who want to get ideas moving without getting bogged down. Compact, clever and seriously fun to use, it combines chord generation, sequencing and performance tools in one grab-and-go unit thats just as happy on a desk as it is in a backpack.

Find chords faster

The standout feature here is Chord Cruiser mode, which can suggest up to 110,000 musically compatible chords. That means less second-guessing, more experimenting, and a much easier way to discover progressions you probably wouldnt have landed on otherwise. When you find something you like, you can save it straight to the keyboard and keep building from there.

Whether you know your theory inside out or youre more of an ears-first operator, Chordcat makes harmony feel quick, intuitive and inspiring.

Build full ideas on the spot

Chordcat isnt just about chords. Its 8-track sequencer gives you the tools to turn a rough idea into something much closer to a real track, with 16 patterns and up to 128 steps to play with. Lay down drums, basslines, hooks and harmonic parts, then tweak and refine as you go.

Its a great fit for sketching songs, building loops, or getting a live performance idea happening without needing a full studio setup.

Loaded with sounds and creative tools

Inside, youll find 145 sound presets and 16 drum kits, giving you plenty to work with straight out of the box. From synths and keys to punchy drums and bass sounds, theres enough here to get ideas off the ground quickly.

The built-in XY pad effects add even more movement, with:

• Arpeggiator

• Delay

• Ducker

Theyre simple to use, genuinely musical, and great for adding life without overcomplicating things.

Made to travel

One of the best things about the Chordcat is how easy it is to take anywhere. Its slim, lightweight and powered by USB-C or batteries, so you can make music on the couch, in the studio, on the road, or wherever inspiration decides to show up.

You also get MIDI I/O for integrating with other gear, plus Ableton Live Lite included, making it easy to take your ideas from hardware sketchpad to full production.
